Having a Gander...

Had a bit of a day out through Herts, Beds and Bucks today. The weather was pretty dull but no snow! Visited Arlesey Nature Reserve with Adam in the morning where we saw plenty of Snipe and Adam managed a cracking photo of a Jack Snipe too. Also seen was a Heron, Water Rail and Green Sandpiper as well as this Fox looking for breakfast.....

After that i visited Flitwick Sewage Treatment Works where there was plenty of Mallard as well as Gulls, Teal, Gadwall, Moorhens and again another Fox on the hunt for food...

These snowy Red Legged Partridges were also nice to see!

I carried on to Buckinghamshire where my main aim was to spot my first ever Goosanders, a diving duck that like the rest of the UK waterfowl is probably finding it very hard during this cold spell. I travelled to Newport Pagnell near Milton Keynes and found a small group of them, they were quite nervous and i didn't get long to photograph them, these are the best of a bad bunch...

Overall a good day, the weather was not good for photography but enjoyable nevertheless!
